Where to start...
First of all, thanks for making it this far. To access my work with TGC, you can simply hover over TGC- Colombia and click on a link, or you can use the table of contents below, which have the added feature of page descriptions.
Introduction- Here you will find a definition of global education, global competence, and glocal. You will also find some suggestions on how to use this website.
My Research- My research question and findings from my trip to Colombia will be posted here.
Global Ed Standards- This page includes suggestions and examples for how to globalize state education standards. I am a math teacher, thus the examples will be for math standards, but they should provide some guidance for taking similar actions in other content-areas.
Int'l Learning Opportunities- Here you will find links to organizations and resources that help bring the world into the classroom.
Digital Tools- This page will include links to, and reflections on, digital tools for the classroom to support curricular goals and global competence.
Global Ed Assessment- Although this page will be imperfect at best, you will find some thoughts and resources regarding how to assess students' acquisition of global competences.
Sample Unit Plan- Although still a work in progress, I will be posting a globalized unit plan to be implemented in my Elementary Functions course (a course between Algebra II and Pre-Calculus). I plan to update this with reflections and revisions as I implement it, thereby maximizing its usefulness to readers of this website.
Travel Posts- This is my attempt to organize my blog posts from my time in Colombia for ease of access.
